Oh, how I love Colleen Hoover’s writing. I’ve long been a fan, ever since reading Maybe Someday in December of 2014. I was hooked from that first book, and I was so excited to have the opportunity to review Regretting You!
Regretting You tells the story of Morgan and her daughter Clara. Morgan got pregnant with Clara when she was seventeen years old, and put her life on hold to marry Clara’s father Chris. Now seventeen years later, Morgan is struggling with her next move. Clara thinks her mother is predictable and boring. She wants nothing more than to be an actress and go to acting school after graduation. After a tragic accident turns their world upside down, they are forced to come together to deal with the fallout.
In true Colleen Hoover fashion, Regretting You was a gut punch at several points. I came into the book with one idea about the plot and it threw me a curveball from early on. I won’t give too much away but be prepared to be emotional right from the beginning. It definitely felt reminiscent of her first book, Slammed, especially in tone, which I loved! I read it over the span of two days, and it was over all too soon.
Thank you to @netgalley and @amazonpublishing for the opportunity to read and review Regretting You!
